The Awakening
No matter how many times I return to the pages of this novella, I never lose that sense of inspiration, gratitude, and awe. For an amazingly good read, pick this up if you haven't read it yet.

"[S]he put her arms around me and felt my shoulder blades, to see if my wings were strong, she said. 'The bird that would soar above the level plain of tradition and prejudice must have strong wings. It is a sad spectacle to see the weaklings bruised, exhausted, fluttering back to earth.'"

I need to read this! I just finished a good book (not sure if it's your style) called "The Help". I loved it.
